Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical technique to increase the size of the breasts. Though there are several options for achieving this goal, breast implants are by far the most widely used. The procedure is fairly straightforward but can be completed in many ways.

During surgery, there are three basic incision types for inserting the breast implants: inframammary, transaxillary and periareolar. Each incision type comes with its own set of benefits and weaknesses. The most common of the three is the inframammary incision, which is located underneath the crease of the breast.

Inframammary incisions are close in proximity to the areas of the pocket that require shaping. This helps Dr. Tito Vasquez to achieve the most optimal breast shape. Plus, the surgery is a bit less complex this way, lowering risks of complications and increasing odds of satisfaction.
