Derma Roller (Microneedling) for Skin Rejuvenation
Derma roller is a microneedling technique to enhance penetration of skin lightening agents. It also promotes collagen production in the skin and helpful in resurfacing of acne scars and fine lines.
It is a device which helps increase the collagen and elastin in your skin. It is useful in acne scars, fine wrinkles and to some extent in stretch marks. It contains upto 200 micro-needles. The size of the needle ranges from 0.5mm to 2.5mm. It parts the pores on the superficial skin, at the area of application, without damaging the skin. The pores close again after about an hour. During this interval, the skin can absorb any creams efficiently. We recommend, application of Vitamin C- serum which also enhances collagen production, lightens and brightens skin tone and retains the moisture content.
It is an easy procedure and can be carried out in any part of the body like face, neck, arms, around the eyes and back. The derma roller can be used weekly once. To minimize discomfort, topical anaesthesia is applied to numb the skin after which the derma roller is applied. Initially, following application, it causes a mild redness, which subsides after 1 to 2 hours. There are no major side effects known for derma roller. It can well be self applied by the patients, but it is better to get it done in the clinic to prevent any discomfort or unequal application.

What is a derma roller?
Dermaroller is a cylindrical shaped drum,studded with very fine needles which is used in micro-needling.
What does it do?
It breaks down old scar tissues which stimulate skin cells to form new tissues elastin and collagen with new blood vessels as well. This in turn improves scar reduction and collagen induction.
What will be the effect on the skin after treatment?
It improves the thickness of the skin in return rejuvenates skin texture and reduces wrinkles. Minimizes signs of aging and also reduces acne scarring.
How is the dermaroller performed?
The skin is cleansed and numbed with an appropriate numbing gel. When the numbing action is achieved, slowly and thoroughly the skin is needled, meaning the instrument is runned over the numbed skin. Which leads to pin point bleeding which is the best indication for a perfect medical performance.
Who is suitable and how many sessions are required?
Dreamroller can be performed on all skin types and colour. It can be done on 3-5 sections in a gap of 4-5 weeks.
Where can a dermaroller be used?
It can be used not only on the face but also on head, neck, decollete, arms, and legs as well.
How will it look after the treatment?
Immediately after dermaroller treatment you look as though you have moderate sun burns and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual which subsides within an hour or two.
Can make up be done after the treatment?
We advise not to apply make up for 24–hours after the procedure and a strong UVA/UVB sunscreen is recommended following the treatment.
What is the post care advice?
Apply aloe vera gel soon after the procedure, use cold water to cleanse, and make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.
