Circumferential Body Lift India
Whole body lift, also referred to as circumferential body lift, is a procedure aimed at contouring the body by removing excess or sagging skin and rendering it an overall lift. It often includes an arm lift, breast lift, buttock lift, thigh lift and a tummy tuck. It improves the shape and tone of underlying tissue that support the fat and skin.
Indications for a whole body lift. If you have significant excess skin in the mid section, lower body and extremities as a result of massive weight loss or ageing, then you may be an ideal candidate for this procedure. Patients closer to their desired or ideal body weight are suitable to undergo the procedure.

What to expect before the circumferential body lift?
You will be advised to stop smoking at least six to eight weeks before surgery. Besides, the surgeon shall advice you to avoid certain medications such as Aspirin (blood thinning agents). Besides, you will be advised lab tests, the results of which will determine your readiness for the procedure.
How is the body lift surgery performed?
At Chennai Plastic Surgery, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia and can take between 4 to 8 hours.
Incision. The procedure involves a number of incisions, the length and pattern of which depend on the amount and location of the skin to be excised. Our surgeons prefer bikini pattern like incisions, which enables removal of an apron of excess skin. Our expert team of cosmetic and plastic surgeons will place the incision strategically in such a way that they can be hidden under clothing and swimsuits.
Procedure. The procedure is often performed in three different stages. In the 1st phase, the excess fat and skin are removed from the thighs, buttocks, hips and back. At Chennai Plastic Surgery, an additional step of liposuction is performed in conjunction to the 1st step to add to the results of a body lift. Following this, you will be turned over, to excise the skin in the front portion of your body. In the 3rd phase, a tummy tuck is performed. If required, an arm lift and a breast lift are included as a part of the procedure.
Sutures. This body lift procedure will require deep support sutures within underlying tissue to enable creation of new contours.
What to expect after the body lift surgery?
Following the procedure, dressing is applied along the sutured areas. Small drains tubes are temporarily placed under the skin to drain any excess blood. Most sutures are dissolvable. The results of a lift are visible almost instantly. But it would definitely take up to 1 or 2 years for the final results to show up.
This procedure however requires an extend recovery period and might have the stay home for at least 6 weeks. Once the swelling subsides and scars settle, you will be immensely pleased with your new look. Besides it confers the additional advantage of improving the dimpled and irregular skin appearance.
What are the risks associated with the procedure?
